NEVADA CITY INN, Nevada City – A Smart Stay in the City

The hotel is conveniently located next to HWY 49 and just a few minutes from Nevada City's historical downtown, making it a great spot for visiting family in the area. The rooms were nice, providing everything we needed with a very comfy bed, although they were somewhat dirty in general. The service was friendly and available, ensuring a warm welcome and helpful assistance even for late check-ins. The dining experience was quite generous, offering gluten-free options, but some items were left out for too long, like cold coffee. Overall, the hotel's location and friendly staff compensated for some minor cleanliness issues in the rooms.

Upon arrival, the hotel was not ready, and the rooms seemed to be rented long term, making me a bit uneasy, although I had no incidents. The room was threadbare and out-dated. On the bright side, the service was nice, kind, and accommodating, with daily room cleaning and towel replacement. The location was very convenient next to HWY 49 and only a few minutes from Nevada City's downtown. The dining experience was below average with a basic continental breakfast. The hotel's facilities were kept clean and well-maintained.

The hotel brings me back to the early 90s with a mix of pros like having everything I needed in the room, including an iron, coffee maker, microwave, and fridge, yet the decor seems a bit outdated. The service, unfortunately, was not the best, with minimal interest in customer care, but the staff did try their best. The location had its charm with tall pine trees and quaint cabins but wasn't the most convenient and had accessibility challenges. The dining experience left much to be desired, with cold coffee and limited options, though fresh-baked scones were a delight.
